Infrastructure Planning & Build-Outs

Site assessments, equipment recommendations, option comparisons, and implementation planning for business locations.

EOT assesses your requirements, compares practical options, and presents a documented recommendation for your team and installation vendors.

Equipment Recommendations and Implementation Responsibilities

EOT prepares equipment recommendations and implementation requirements based on your site, existing systems, and operational needs.

Your business purchases and owns the equipment. Configuration, remote management, cabling, and on-site installation responsibilities are identified in the proposal and coordinated with the relevant vendors.

Site and Infrastructure Assessment

Infrastructure assessments document site conditions, retained equipment, dependencies, and implementation requirements. The agreed scope can include:

Cameras & access

Camera placement and intended coverage areas; entrances and shared spaces; recording and access needs; coordination with qualified security-system installers.

Networks & Wi-Fi

Wired and wireless connectivity; access-point locations; network segmentation; equipment capacity; cabling routes and power dependencies.

Sites & expansions

Equipment and device locations; office moves; phased upgrades; vendor coordination; documentation and operational handover.

Equipment Estimate and Build-Out Recommendation Comparison

An equipment estimate identifies proposed products and costs. A build-out recommendation also documents requirements, proposed locations, dependencies, implementation stages, and the basis for equipment selection.

Assessment and Recommendation Process

1. Site Assessment

Review your goals, available site information, existing equipment, and operational constraints. Identify gaps that need validation during a walkthrough.

2. Option Comparison

Develop practical options and explain differences in coverage, capacity, management, cost drivers, and future expansion.

3. Formal Recommendation

Present the proposed build-out, supporting rationale, implementation sequence, and decisions needed to move forward.

4. Implementation Coordination

Where included in scope, coordinate with installation vendors and support documentation, testing, and handover.

Planning Deliverables

Annotated Site Plan

A site or floor plan annotated with proposed cameras, access points, network equipment, device locations, and intended coverage. Assumptions and items requiring field verification stay visible.

Equipment and Implementation Estimate

Equipment categories, quantities where validated, budget assumptions, installation dependencies, and separate one-time and recurring cost considerations.

Management Recommendation Presentation

An executive summary, comparison of options, recommended approach, implementation phases, exclusions, and approval decisions in a presentation-ready format.

Example: a small office build-out

Fictional demonstration only. This example shows how a recommendation can be organized. It is not a surveyed site, installation drawing, client case study, or equipment quote. Photos are stock illustrations.

Illustrative office layout

Fictional layout, not to scale. Labels show planning considerations; final device quantities, locations, and coverage require site verification.

Entrance / reception

Camera coverage concept: entry activity.
Check sightlines, lighting, privacy, and recording needs.

Shared work area

Wi-Fi coverage concept: staff and guest connectivity.
Check access-point placement, user density, walls, and cable routes.

Network / equipment room

Managed firewall and switching concept.
Check power, rack space, ventilation, network capacity, and authorized access.

Secondary entrance

Additional coverage concept, if justified.
Check mounting permission, viewing angle, network route, and operational need.

Connection concept: internet service → firewall → managed switch → access points, workstations, and approved camera equipment. Equipment categories are illustrative, not a purchase list.

Build-Out Options

OptionIllustrative scopeTradeoff
FoundationAddress immediate connectivity and priority entry-area requirements; document retained equipmentLower initial scope; fewer provisions for expansion
BalancedAdd validated coverage areas, managed network equipment, staff/guest separation, and complete documentationBroader operational coverage with additional equipment and configuration
Expansion-readyAdd capacity, spare cabling routes, and resilience measures justified by growth or downtime requirementsHigher upfront scope; more headroom for future needs

Actual pricing follows site review, equipment selection, and vendor quotes. No prices, equipment counts, or performance guarantees are implied by this example.

Example formal recommendation

Proposed approach: For this fictional office, evaluate the Balanced option first, subject to a walkthrough confirming that its coverage and capacity match the organization’s needs. Retain serviceable equipment where appropriate, address validated gaps, and document how the system will be supported.

Suggested sequence: Confirm requirements and site conditions → validate placement and vendor scope → obtain itemized quotes → approve the selected option → coordinate installation → verify coverage and connectivity → hand over documentation.

Before approval: Confirm budget, equipment ownership, recording and retention requirements, administrative access, responsibilities for installation, and ongoing support. Final device locations and quantities require site validation.

Request an Infrastructure Planning Consultation

Contact EOT with your site information, proposed changes, and infrastructure requirements. We will discuss the scope of the assessment and planning deliverables.

Consulting deliverables, fees, installation responsibilities, and ongoing support are defined in the agreed proposal or statement of work. Planning recommendations are subject to site verification; permit-ready drawings and licensed trade work, where required, are separate services.
